AeroMD is based in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We can provide you with one-time air medical ambulance service from Costa Rica, or an annual membership that can cover you throughout the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and much of Central and South America. Our staff of medical and flight professionals stand ready to transport you to the nearest American facility so that you can be sure you’re getting the highest quality care and that your medical coverage will be accepted, giving you one less thing to worry about as you recover.

Emergency Room Quality Air Ambulance Service

Our staff consists of highly trained pilots, medical professionals, and communications specialists who will coordinate your care from first call to your arrival at the receiving facility. They train together regularly using Crew Resource Management to ensure that working together is second nature and you receive excellent care no matter what the emergency.

Our fleet consists of two of the fastest, most reliable air ambulances on the market, each outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment that is equivalent to that found in U.S. trauma centers. This allows us to provide a high degree of care to patients ranging from pediatric, to geriatric, trauma victims, and everything in between.

A Breakdown of Our Response Times

When you call our AeroMD, we begin mustering our crew immediately, so that we can respond to your medical emergency in a matter of hours, not days like some other medical flight services.

Our top-of-the-line air fleet consists of:

  • Learjet 35A Air Ambulance – The Learjet is the larger of our two crafts with a cruising altitude of 45,000 feet and a nautical range of 2,150 nautical miles. It can travel at a maximum speed of 530 mph to transport patients from Costa Rica to the receiving facility quickly and efficiently.
  • Beechcraft Super King Air 200 Air Ambulance – The Beechcraft Super King Air has a maximum altitude of 35,000 feet with a cruising speed of 340 mph. This smaller craft has a nautical range of 1,800 miles.

Each craft is crewed by two pilots and the medical staff necessary provide the care our patients need.
